Equity in Action: Transforming Physics Education Through Research and Collaboration
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
In this presentation, I will discuss equity-oriented Physics Education Research (PER) as a mechanism to challenge systemic barriers and improve experiences for marginalized people in physics. More specifically, I will highlight how PER has informed policy and practice to create inclusive pathways for diverse scholars and influenced programmatic and curricular changes to cultivate more equitable learning environments. I will reflect on the importance of collaborative efforts to foster a more inclusive physics community. A focal point will be the TIPSSS network, which strives to reimagine introductory physics education, ensuring equitable access and success for all students.
