STEP UP: A collective effort to achieve gender equity in physics

Abstract

This session will introduce the STEP UP curriculum to our PhysTEC partners so they are better prepared and enthusiastic about promoting the STEP UP program with pre-service teachers. We will discuss our new initiative in which STEP UP is partnering with PhysTEC sites in three regions to create local communities that support increasing the representation of women in physics programs. In the third part of the session, we will discuss ways to modify the STEP UP curriculum to work best in undergraduate and pre-service settings. All interested PhysTEC partners are welcome.
