teachHouston: The Streamlined Preparation Program at the University of Houston

teachHOUSTON has an accelerated degree plan that targets those who already have a STEM degree (including career changers) or those who have only a few courses left that are seeking secondary STEM teacher certification. Students complete the same coursework as in the traditional~\textit{teach}HOUSTON program including quality coursework, field experiences, mentoring, and support; however, the curriculum is enhanced with the inclusion of culturally responsive pedagogy. Unlike a traditional pathway which generally takes place over the course of three to four years, this accelerated plan is completed within nine months. Students receive certification in Mathematics 7-12, Science 7-12, Physics/Mathematics 7-12, Life Science 7-12, or Chemistry 7-12.
