How I Encouraged Student Engagement While Teaching Online During the Pandemic

Many of us learned on the fly how to teach online in Spring 2020. While we had more time to prepare for our Fall 2020 online or hybrid classes, it was still a steep learning curve. I'll demonstrate how I use my iPad tablet to present, Microsoft Forms to administer Conceptual Questions, and share live demonstrations with my students during class using Microsoft Teams. Simple things such as encouraging students to communicate verbally or in the chat has helped with engagement and a sense of community in class.
