A New Perspective for Gravity
ORAL
Abstract
Einstein's Theory of General Relativity (GR) in 1915 was long before Quantum Theory (QT) got its start at the Solvay Conference in 1928. Since then there has been no successful reconcilation of the mathematical approaches of GR and QT. Although Einstein predicted the existence of gravitational waves (GWs) in 1918, they were not detected until 2015, but over 100 have been detected since then. This talk presents a way to reconcile GR and QM by examining the concept of gravitons composing GWs just as photons compose Electromagnetic Waves. This new perspective has one dramatic insight that the force of gravitons as massless particles traving at the speed of light are the causal agents of gravity. Gravitons are like photons, but with much less energy. Under Einstein's Special Relativity that E = pc, energy for massless particles equals momentum times the speed of light. This perspective resolves the problem of GR regarding an infinitely compressed mass inside the Event Horizon of a Black Hole, It also provides a physical explanation Dark Matter and Dark Energy effects as well as inertia of mass. This all results simply by reversing the direction of the gravitational force.
