RD53A & RD53B chip driver test through E-Links
ORAL
Abstract
E-links are data transmission cables that will be installed in the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment during the phase 2 upgrades. They will transmit data collected by the inner tracker pixel detector to an optical signal converter which will send the data out for further analysis. Tests are run on these E-links in order to determine their transmission quality. The RD53A & subsequent RD53B readout chips are specially designed to be mounted on the inner tracker pixel detector for the phase two upgrades. These chips are used to send out a signal at 1.28Gbps. We measure the bit error rate of the signal after the transmission through E-links. This talk presents the results of this test for multiple E-links.
