AMS-02 observations of antiprotons -- potential evidence for indirect detection of a new dark matter WIMP with a mass of about 70 GeV

Abstract

The calculations by Bailey Tallman discussed in an accompanying talk predict a dark matter particle with a mass of about 70 GeV and a cross-section (times velocity) for annihilation in the present universe of about 1.2 x 10-26 cm3/s. In this talk we discuss how these results are consistent with an interpretation that the antiprotons observed by the satellite experiment AMS-02 are evidence for indirect detection of dark matter annihilation, with reference to several independent analyses [1-5].
