The Influence of the Annealing Time and Temperature on the Sintering of Alumina Al2O3 and Yttria Stabilized Zirconia YSZ Powder Pellets

ORAL

Abstract

Over time, the process of sintering ceramics have been observed and refined. The properties of ceramics are determined by the microstructure such as grain size, pores, and density and such properties undergo different techniques to obtain high-density bodies that result in smaller grain sizes. Focusing aluminum based composites such as Al2O3 and YSZ, the sintering temperature and time were measured using powder preparation, compaction and finally sintering using the SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). The experiment ran in testing both Al2O3 and YSZ from a range of 900℃ - 1100℃ with time durations. The influence factors of sintering of Al2O3 and YSZ and its properties were shown in comparison to each other and with previous gathered data.
