Simulated Gas and Relative Efficiency
POSTER
Abstract
NETL examined the Xenon-135 neutron cross section this summer with the University of Dallas to better predict how Xenon-135 will act within reactors. The Xenon sample was a gas sample creating the need to do an efficiency calibration with a simulated gas sample of Europium-152 to create the same geometry between the Xeon and Europium. The relative efficiency for the 249 keV peak to the 608 keV peak was measured to be 1.10 ± 0.02. The relative efficiency for the 249 keV peak to the 526 keV peak was measured to be 0.594 ± 0.02.
