Design and analysis of a Silicon Photomultiplier array for a Solid Xenon Particle Detector
POSTER
Abstract
Liquid xenon particle detectors have set world-leading limits on Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs), but are limited by the presence of Rn backgrounds. A solid xenon detector can limit the inflow of Rn, lowering backgrounds by up to three orders of magnitude. This poster presents current developments on the design of Silicon Photomulitplier hardware and analysis software, for the tagging of Rn events in solid xenon. Emphasis is placed on SiPM array design, pulse classification techniques, and future prospects following this work for Rn tagging in solid xenon.
