The Golden Rule, revisited

We use the Gamow (resonant) states to derive the exact expression for the Golden Rule. We show that the Fermi Golden Rule arises from the exact Golden Rule in the approximation that the resonance is long-lived (sharp). We also show that the exact Golden Rule is appropriate to describe both energy and angular decay distributions.
