Current gain and coherent matter wave emission in the atomtronic transistor
ORAL
Abstract
The atomtronic transistor, which uses a Bose-Einstein condensate in a triple well potential, is shown to exhibit properties of ‘gain’ and coherent emission of matter waves at its output. A theoretical framework was proposed in [Anderson, Phys. Rev. A 104, 033311 (2021)], based on the ansatz that a condensate undergoing dipole oscillation in the middle well gives rise to the gain in atom current and subsequent emission of coherent matter waves at the output. In this work, we test this theory and its predictions by numerically solving the Gross-Pitaevskii equation. We showed that for a small range of bias potential in the transistor, both transistor gain and coherence can be observed showing agreement with the proposed theory.
