Electron-nuclear entanglement dynamics in qudit systems

ORAL

Abstract

The spin-photon interfaces offered in solid-state systems are promising resources for quantum network and sensing applications. The nuclei contained in these systems have potential for serving as quantum memories owing to their long coherence times. We overcome challenges in controlling electron-nuclear spin interactions by building upon the use of a metric known as the one-tangling power to examine the growth of entanglement within a large class of spin systems containing an electron coupled to nuclei of arbitrary spin. We also extend this method to study hyperfine-mediated electron spin decoherence due to neighboring nuclear ensembles of arbitrary size and total spin.
