Self-assembled Monolayers of Trimesic Acid on Graphite

Abstract
Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) at the solid-liquid interface have been studied extensively. Here, we report Scanning Tunneling Microscopy/Spectroscopy (STM/STS) data on self-assembled monolayer of trimesic acid on highly ordered pyrolytic graphite (HOPG) surface. Different concentrations of trimesic acid have been used in this study. STS measurements reveal that density of states of trimesic acid covered HOPG surface is similar to the density of states of pristine HOPG.
