Quantum transport in magic angle twisted trilayer graphene

Abstract

Moiré materials have been shown to exhibit unconventional electronic phases in low temperature transport measurements. This type of behavior is seen in magic angle twisted trilayer graphene (MATTG), where the magic angle between graphene layers is 1.5°. We see complex correlated phases emerge such as superconductivity and insulating states which are highly tunable. With in situ tuning of the carrier density and electric field, we see distinct boundaries between phases in Hall effect measurements. Our work explores the unconventional phases of MATTG and provides insight into this highly correlated, strongly interacting system. Latest data will be presented and compared to theoretical models.
