Involving Undergraduates from Liberal Arts Colleges in Particle Physics Research
ORAL
Abstract
In this talk, I will review the contribution of the undergraduate students from Washington College and other primarily undergraduate institutions to the physics program of the ATLAS experiment at CERN. I will also summarize the strategy I have used in recruiting, training, mentoring, and ensuring successful career transition of the undergraduates. Finally, I will present a case study of including particle physics data analysis in a computational physics course at Washington College.
