Optimizing Multi-Qubit calibration with QruiseOS and Zurich Instruments integration

ORAL

Abstract

Automated calibration is crucial to maintaining optimal performance in quantum processing units (QPUs). The QruiseOS framework streamlines this by running tailored workflows for characterization, logging data, and monitoring system metrics, while integrating seamlessly with various control hardware solutions for consistent calibration. In this presentation, we demonstrate the combined capabilities of QruiseOS [1] with the Zurich Instruments (ZI) control stack [2] to address these needs efficiently, presenting benchmarks and performance metrics across multiple multi-qubit QPUs. Our specific focus was on achieving competitive single qubit gate performance in an isolated qubit configuration. With the help of QruiseOS we were able to rapidly reach this point across multiple QPUs. Having reached this point we next targeted different variants of standard two qubit flux based gates [3]. These results establish QruiseOS as an effective platform for accelerating the device development cycle, enabling rapid assessment and iteration of superconducting qubit designs through standardized, automated calibration protocols.
