High-performance, manufacturable photon pair sources

We intriduce a new design for integrated photonics photon pair sources. The design simultaneously achieves high brightness, efficiency, and spectral purity. It is robust to process variations to such a degree that in can be produced and operated in high volumes without any calibration and tuning. We implemented this design in out state-of-the-art SiN intergrated photonics platform and, using novel characterization tools for photon pair sources, we demonstrate record performance.
