Molecular Mechanisms of Enhanced Conductivity in Ionic Liquid Crystals
ORAL
Abstract
Ionic liquid crystal (ILC) electrolytes combine ordered structures with ionic conductivity and show great promise for solid-state energy storage applications. This study examines LiCnTFSI systems, in particular LiC18TFSI, where enhanced conductivity has been linked to favorable structural properties. We explore how layered structures induced by variable alkyl chain lengths influence ion mobility. We explicitly investigate the ion binding process in the solid state through free energy calculations of the ion dissociation pathway.
