Onsager Prize: Aging and slow dynamics in complex systems

We will review 30 years of developments of stylized models of aging and slow dynamics, including different versions of the "trap model", and other mean-field approaches. We will also discuss recent non-linear susceptibility aging experiments in glass forming liquids, which reveal that a cooperative length scale is growing with time in these systems.
