Conformal invariance of two-dimensional active flows

Recent studies have provided robust evidence of the existence of conformal invariance in a large class of two-dimensional chaotic flows. This includes swarming bacteria and collectively migrating eukaryotes, in addition to the classic inertial turbulence in two dimensions. In this talk, I will describe our attempts to rationalize the origin of this phenomenon using Schramm–Loewner evolution and various models of active and driven fluids
