Progress on the Quantum Internet realization using a diamond NV-center testbed

ORAL

Abstract

The realization of the Quantum Internet will enable several applications among quantum processors in a network, covering large distances. Some of these applications include: secure communication, distributed quantum computation and blind quantum computation.NV centers in diamond provide an excellent testbed combining quantum processing in local multi-qubit registers, remote entanglement generation and quantum teleportation in a network.

In this talk, we present recent experimental progress in the Quantum Internet scenario using an NV-center testbed. The focus is on the required interfaces and protocols between the crucial components of such a framework. In particular, we report on a photonic interface between quantum processors and quantum memories, relevant for long-distance quantum communication. [1]. Additionally, we discuss the first architecture capable of executing arbitrary quantum network applications in a multi-tasking fashion on the testbed, showing the realization of an interface between high-level software and physical quantum nodes [2].
