Advances in Broadband Parametric Amplification for Qubit Readout

Abstract

High quantum efficiency broadband amplification is a key requirement for high fidelity qubit readout and thus implementing quantum error correction. We detail the modeling and design of high quantum efficiency broadband amplifiers using our open source toolkit JosephsonCircuits.jl. We present the fabrication of such amplifiers using a qubit fabrication process with state of the art junction critical current uniformity. Finally, we detail the characterization of these amplifiers and applications in rapid high fidelity qubit readout, including integration of amplifiers and qubits, reverse noise protection, and impedance matched architectures.
