Medical Physics Helps Us To Cure Hypertension

Hypertension is a major cause of premature death worldwide. From physics, the cause of hypertension is high blood viscosity and turbulence in blood circulation. Unfortunately, reducing blood viscosity conventionally conflicts with suppressing turbulence. When the blood viscosity is reduced isotropically, the turbulence gets worse because the Reynold number increases. Unconventional approach is thus critically needed. We have initiated a new approach: when a strong magnetic field is applied along the blood flow direction, the red blood cells are polarized and aggregated into short chains; the blood viscosity is significantly reduced along the flow direction, but is increased substantially in the directions perpendicular to the blood flow, so that the turbulence is suppressed, a steady laminar blood flow is achieved, and the blood pressure is quickly lowered down to the normal range. To implement such therapy, we invented a magnetic hematology device. Our clinical trials have 215 people tested. The technology is effective for everyone. On average, in 15 minutes the magnetic treatment lowers the blood pressure by 21.4%. The effect lasts more than 24 hours and can be kept continuously if the treatment is repeated daily. Our placebo tests have confirmed that without application of magnetic field, the blood pressure cannot be lowered. The therapy also improves blood oxygen function. We expect that this technology will help people to cure hypertension, preventing cardiovascular diseases.
