Josephson effect and critical currents in topological full-shell hybrid nanowires

ORAL

Abstract

Full-shell hybrid nanowires are an alternative design to partial-shell Majorana nanowires where the superconductor shell covers all around a semiconductor core with strong spin-orbit coupling. It has been argued that this geometry can host a topological superconducting phase driven by the orbital effect of an applied axial field whenever an odd number of superconductor phase windings, or fluxoids, threads the hybrid section. We explore the Josephson effect between two full-shell hybrid nanowires in the short junction limit for different transparencies of the weak link. In particular, we focus on the behavior of the critical current Ic for different models of the semiconductor core.
