Cooper-pair splitting in a topological van der Waals heterostructure
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
We propose a 2D heterostructure that allows for filtering of Cooper pairs in real space as an efficient source of correlated electrons for quantum devices. The heterostructure consists of an antiferromagnetic insulator (AFMI) sandwiched between two transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMD) monolayers. Magnons in the AFMI mediate an interaction between electrons in the TMDs that gives rise to interlayer Cooper pairing. This interaction opens coexisting extended s-wave and chiral p-wave superconducting gaps in the energy spectrum of the coupled system. The latter gives rise to topological Majorana edge modes that carry charge along magnetic domains.
