A Path Integral Approach to Careers: From Condensed Matter Physics to Artificial Intelligence
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
The Feynman Path Integral formulation interprets the state of a particle at point B as being derived over a sum of all possible trajectories from a previous point A. Taking a similar approach to careers starting with physics, I was fortunate enough to explore many different pathways ultimately leading to my current position as a research scientist in the field of artificial intelligence. In this talk, I will dive into all of the different areas I had the opportunity to work in and study, from aerospace engineering to atmospheric science and machine learning. I will share my experience working at the Jet Propulsion Lab while completing my undergraduate and graduate degree as well as my delight in studying under Prof. Steve White during my PhD. Finally, I will discuss my transition from physics into artificial intelligence.
