Search for Resonant Higgs Boson Pair Production in 2b + 2l + ETmiss Final States in ATLAS

POSTER

Abstract

A search for Higgs boson pair production in the 2b+2l+ETmiss final states is carried out using 140 fb−1 of pp collision data delivered at √s=13 TeV and 59 fb−1 of pp collision data delivered at √s=13.6 TeV by the Large Hadron Collider and recorded by the ATLAS Experiment. The search is targeting resonant (beyond the Standard Model) Higgs boson pair production. The selection of events is optimized for cases where one of the Higgs bosons decays via the H→b bbar channel and the other via the dileptonic modes of the H→WW/ZZ+τ- channels. Events are required to have two b-tagged jets and exactly two leptons (electrons or muons) with opposite electric charge in the final state. A Parametric Neural Network is trained on kinematic variables and mass of the scalar signal particle (for several signal scalar particle masses) to discriminate signal and backgrounds. Preliminary (expected) limits are calculated. The speaker’s work on this neural network and preliminary limits, as well as the general current status and future developments of this search will be presented.
