Wide-Angle Bremsstrahlung in a Reduced LDMX
POSTER
Abstract
The Light Dark Matter eXperiment (LDMX) is a proposed electron beam fixed-target collider experiment that will use a missing-momentum signal to search for dark matter in the sub-GeV mass range. Prior to construction of the full experiment, a reduced version of the experiment is expected to be operational by Summer 2025. Wide-angle bremsstrahlung (WAB) events, where the electron undergoes a hard bremsstrahlung and exits the target at a wide angle, have emerged as the most frequent background process in LDMX. This poster discusses the possibility of using the Reduced LDMX to study WABs and reconstruct expected kinematic distributions for the background. These could ultimately be compared with data from the reduced experiment to enhance understanding of WABs and our simulation of the process before the full experiment is operational.
