Improved Simulation, Digitization, and Reconstruction for Electromagnetic Calorimeter in MUonE Framework
POSTER
Abstract
MUonE is a proposed experiment at CERN that is motivated by the discrepancy in Muon g-2 that was recently confirmed at Fermilab. The MUonE experiment aims to determine the hadronic contributions to the muon anomalous magnetic moment by measuring analogous contributions to the running of the electromagnetic coupling 𝝰. This presentation will describe additions to the digitization and reconstruction code for the Monte Carlo simulations of the electromagnetic calorimeter for MUonE. Previously the digitization only recorded the maximum ADC value for each waveform, and now it scales a template waveform according to the pulse energy. These digitized waveforms are then fit, using an algorithm that can also be applied for experimental data, to extract the energy that is needed for the analysis of MUonE.
