Modeling Top Quark Background for New Higgs-Boson Search at the Large Hadron Collider
POSTER
Abstract
The Standard Model of Particle Physics is an excellent theory with all of its predictions verified by experiments so far. However, it has limitations as evidenced by experimental observations such as non-zero neutrinos mass, dark matter, etc, necessitating new models like the exploration of multiple Higgs bosons. I will present results from a study comparing various simulations of the dominant background, namely pair-produced top-quarks, in the search for additional Higgs bosons in the proton-proton collision data as recorded by the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider.
