Continued development of new kagome systems; structural diversity, charge-order and magnetism

ORAL

Abstract

With the continued enthusiasm circling kagome metals, we've sought to develop new kagome families and kagome prototypes to bridge the "structural" gap between families like the AM3X5 kagome superconductors and the AM6X6 kagome magnets. In this experimental-focused talk, we discuss the discovery of several new kagome prototypes, alongside their structural motifs and physical properties. New members of existing families are also introduced, providing an array of new chemistries available to the community. A new series of magnetic kagome metals, a new compound exhibiting a density-wave type of instability, and a compound that shares motifs from both the AM3X5 and AM6X6 kagome metals are presented.
