Synthesis and physical properties of ternary-transition-metal sulfides
ORAL
Abstract
Transition-metal sulfide compounds exhibit a remarkable range of physical properties that are crucial for advancing quantum technology and enhancing our understanding of quantum systems. While many transition-metal sulfides have been extensively studied, numerous compounds remain unexplored. This work aims to discover new materials and deepen our understanding of previously investigated systems. We will report on the synthesis, obtained phases, and crystal structures of ternary transition-metal sulfide systems including KNiS2, BaNiS2, La3Ni2S7, Ce3Fe2S7, and Ce2Fe2S5. Physical property measurements including electrical resistivity, magnetic susceptibility, and heat capacity will be reported.
