Manipulation of the anomalous Hall effect of magic angle twisted bilayer graphene with light

ORAL

Abstract

Flat bands in graphene-based moiré structures offer a wide range of emerging strongly correlated and topological phases, including Chern insulators and superconductivity. Substantial information about these phases can be revealed by probing their properties through their interaction with light. In this talk, I will show the effects of near infra-red illumination on the transport properties of magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene, focusing on the anomalous Hall effect. I will discuss the effects of photo-doping, heating and light polarization on the magnetic states. Our results shed light on the interaction between light and orbital magnetism.
