Determining Ground State Spin Textures of the Ferromagnetic Kondo Lattice Model
ORAL
Abstract
The Ferromagnetic Kondo Lattice Model (FKLM) describes systems with interactions between localized and itinerant electrons and can host noncoplanar spin textures that give rise to phenomena such as the Quantum Anomalous Hall Effect (QAHE) and skyrmions. Previous work has either assumed a specific ansatz or only considered a limited number of spin textures competing for the ground state. Thus, in this work we develop an optimization-based numerical program to perform an unbiased and comprehensive search for the ground state spin texture under varying conditions. We confirm the stability of noncoplanar spin textures, particularly at ¼ filling, and identify the tetrahedral spin texture as the ground state over a range of exchange couplings.
