Realizing Scalable Quantum Processing Units (QPUs): Achievements and Prospects in 200mm Wafer-Level Fabrication by IQM Quantum Computers
ORAL
Abstract
The development of large-scale quantum computing systems has become a central focus in contemporary scientific and technological research. At IQM Quantum Computers, we have pioneered advancements in the production of Quantum Processing Units (QPUs) through 200mm wafer-level fabrication. This work highlights our latest achievements in developing superconducting quantum processors, which are critical to scaling quantum computing platforms. Key advancements include a high yield of functional qubits, extended coherence times, ultra-high CZ gate fidelity, exceptional uniformity across wafers, and cutting-edge 3D integration techniques. To further ensure the reliability and scalability of our processes, we conducted comprehensive process capability analysis and process performance analysis. These analyses provide vital insights into the reproducibility of our QPUs, ensuring they meet stringent performance criteria required for large-scale systems. These developments collectively represent significant strides toward scalable, cost-efficient mass production of quantum processors. Our results underscore the potential for superconducting quantum circuits to support the demands of large-scale quantum computing and further propel the field toward practical, large-scale applications.
