Symmetry design of optical effect in magnetic materials

Abstract

Symmetry is an effective approach for describing physical phases and properties. Moreover, the imposition of specific symmetry constraints or the introduction of multiple symmetry types enables the study of coupling effects among various degrees of freedom [1-2], and can be used for inverse materials design. Especially, the rapidly developing optical effects in recent years [3] have provided fingerprints for materials and are suitable for description through symmetry. Here, we focus on investigations of novel optical effects based on symmetry, uncover their unique origins through symmetry analysis, and inverse design magnetic materials that exhibit these effects.
