Quantum Simulation of Standard Model Physics

ORAL · Invited

Abstract

Robustly simulating the nature and dynamics of matter in extreme conditions lies beyond the capabilities of classical computing alone. Toward realizing Feynman's vision, advances in quantum information science and technology are profoundly changing how we understand and explore fundamental quantum systems. We are now working toward simulating essential aspects of these systems using quantum computers (embedded in large HPC systems). I will present an overview of the progress in the nuclear physics community, along with the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.
