Nanoprinted textured superconducting wires

ORAL

Abstract

As the diameter of a superconducting nanowire approaches the coherence length, its superconducting state becomes increasingly sensitive to factors such as the disorder, texture, non-equilibrium effects and details of the interfaces with other materials. While this may present a difficulty for some applications, it also provides an opportunity for controlled manipulation of quantum states that is needed for creating tunable quantum devices. We will describe a nanoprinting method for fabrication of narrow nanowires with unprecedented control over their physical texture and will show how this can be used to tune their transport properties.
