Mapping and Modeling the Magnetic Field for LANL nEDM
ORAL
Abstract
Modern searches for the neutron's permanent electric dipole moment are limited by particle count and magnetic field control. Controlling the magnetic field environment requires a well-built magnetically shielded room, a suite of shim coils, a magnetic field mapper, external magnetometers, and a co-magnetometer. In this talk, I will discuss the numerical modeling of our magnetic field and magnetic shielding, with a focus on model validation and FEA optimizations and limitations.
