Neutron-Mirror Neutron Oscillation Experiments
ORAL
Abstract
A suite of experiments is being carried out at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) to test the hypothesis of Mirror Matter and address the discrepancy in the neutron lifetime between bottle versus beam measurements. These experiments use magnetic fields to facilitate the oscillations between the ordinary state of the neutron and its mirror state, which would pass through an absorber uninhibited. I will discuss past results and upcoming experiments, including one scheduled as early as May 2025.
