Black hole simulations in massive scalar Gauss – Bonnet gravity

ORAL

Abstract

Recent advancements in gravitational wave observation, both in sensitivity and number of detections, have been a motivating factor in studying potential deviations from the standard models of general relativity. Blackholes, as one of the sources of gravitational waves, can be explored to study such possible deviations one of which is the formation of scalar clouds around the black hole. In this talk, I will discuss black holes in scalar Gauss-Bonnet gravity, in which a scalar field is non-minimally coupled to gravity and can yield black hole hair. I will present numerical simulations of massive scalars around black holes in scalar Gauss-Bonnet gravity and discuss the formation and structure of new scalar hair solutions.
