Shining Light on the Dark Sector: Search for Dark Photon and Axion Like Particles with FASER.

ORAL

Abstract

The FASER experiment at the LHC is designed to search for light, weakly-

interacting particles produced in proton-proton collisions at the ATLAS in-

teraction point that travel in the far-forward direction. During LHC Run 3

FASER has collected close to 200 fb−1 from 2022 to 2024 at center of mass

energy √s = 13.6 TeV. This talk will present result for Dark Photon decay to

an electron-positron pair and Axion Like Particles (ALPs) decay to a pair of

photons. In both cases signals are characterized by high-energy deposits in the

electromagnetic calorimeter and no signal in the veto scintillators with the Dark

Photon also leaving signals in downstream scintillators. In both cases FASER

has been able to set world leading constraints. The most recent results will be

presented.
