The Forward Physics Facility at the LHC

ORAL

Abstract

Huge numbers of neutrinos are produced in collisions at the LHC, but as they are highly columnated in the beam direction, the large LHC detectors are blind to them. If light BSM particles are produced in these collisions, they would likewise be focused in the forward direction, and completely missed by the existing LHC detectors. The Forward Physics Facility (FPF) is a proposed suite of experiments to be deployed for the High Luminosity LHC that would detect the large flux of neutrinos and search for BSM physics in this region. I will discuss the four proposed experiments that make up the FPF and the status of design and engineering work for the facility.
