The AI Discovery Revolution in Astronomy

Astronomy is facing an unprecedented data influx from next-generation observatories, challenging traditional data analysis methods. Artificial Intelligence (AI) emerges as a promising tool to handle these vast, complex datasets, uncovering hidden patterns and accelerating discoveries. However, astronomical data poses challenges to state-of-the-art AI, and these models have not been optimized to extract scientific information from data. In this talk I will discuss how AI is transforming the astronomical research, addressing the unique challenges of astronomical data, and highlighting opportunities for new breakthroughs.
