Ultrarelativistic collision of black holes with AthenaK
ORAL
Abstract
In this talk, we explore ultrarelativistic black hole collisions using the GPU-accelerated code AthenaK. We investigate head-on and grazing collisions of binary black holes, focusing on how initial boosts and impact parameters affect the formation of remnant black holes and the subsequent gravitational wave signatures. AthenaK’s high performance allows us to efficiently capture these phenomena, advancing our understanding of strong-field gravity.
