Searching for stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds using A# and LISA
ORAL · Invited
Abstract
As new gravitational-wave detectors come on-line, the potential for detecting new sources of gravitational waves increases. This is particularly true for stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds, which are formed from the superposition of gravitational-wave signals that are either too weak or too numerous to individually detect. This talk will focus on methods and prospects for detecting stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds using the A# enhancement of the Advanced LIGO detectors, as well as the planned Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA).
