Study of superfast quarks using Jefferson Lab 11 GeV data
ORAL
Abstract
Studying the EMC-style ratios for x>1 will be useful to understand the EMC effect. Inclusive scattering from nuclei at Bjorken x>1 at high Q2 is sensitive to the distribution of high-momentum quarks. Quarks carrying a momentum greater than that of a nucleon are called 'Superfast Quarks' and their distribution is connected to short-distance structure in nuclei, it's a promising region to study the importance of the underlying quarks degrees of freedom in nuclear structure. The 11 GeV data allows a cleaner study than the 6 GeV data, because of the higher Q2 values achieved, which allows us to have dominant DIS contributions and suppress the quasi-elastic one.
