A search for heavy resonances decaying to bosons with the new UFO large-R jet definition using ATLAS

ORAL

Abstract

Many theories beyond the Standard Model predict the existence of new heavy Gauge bosons. A search for heavy resonances decaying to bosons in the semileptonic final states is ongoing, using the proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 139 fb−1 at √s = 13 TeV with the ATLAS experiment at LHC. In this second round of the analysis there are many improvements which bring sizable gains in sensitivity. One such area is the use of the new UFO large-R jet definition, which combine calorimeter and inner detector information to achieve optimal performance across a wide kinematic range. These jets also need to be properly calibrated and have corrections applied in MC to best match the data.
