Evaluation of systematic uncertainties for flavor tagging of jets due to long-lived particle decays at the ATLAS experiment
ORAL
Abstract
Jets originating from long-lived particle decays appear in various BSM models, in particular in supersymmetry scenarios with R-parity violation. Determination of flavor of these jets ("b-tagging") is complicated as no natural source of such jets exists in the standard model to facilitate the tag rate calibration. I will discuss the approaches to evaluate systematic uncertainties on flavor tagging efficiencies for such jets. These studies are part of reinterpretation of searches for supersymmetry models with long-lived particles using the ATLAS experiment at the LHC.
